COMPATIBILITY OF THE UTILITARIAN AND AESTHETIC ASPECTS IN THE CONTEMPORARY ART EDUCATION - (DESIGN OF ORNAMENTS AS A MODEL)

The field of art education is considered as one of the most important fields of plastic arts, and it has their main tributary that link the beauty of the arts and the functions of artistic works. Along the time, the plastic arts have changed in different aspects; and therefore, they have varied and resulted in new artistic directions in the form and content. Thus, the arts pursue the latest development in various fields, and resulted in a multiplicity of styles, methods and materials that influenced the artist. This article mainly aims to highlight the importance of studying the crafts of ornaments as a course in the contemporary art education, and get its advantages it to attain the utilitarian functional aspect. Besides, many other secondary objectives, including the contribution in understanding the nature of the utilitarian functional aspects of ornaments in the field of art education. The importance of this article is represented in finding new approaches that facilitate the field of ornaments’ crafts, and also achieve the aesthetic and artistic aspects in the ornaments pieces as well as linking them functionally. In this paper, the author have relied on the descriptive approach, so that some pieces of ornaments are described in ancient, medieval and contemporary age‎‎‎.‎
