TEACHERS' ATTITUDES ABOUT COMMONLY USED ALTERNATIVE ASSESSMENT STRATEGIES IN ARAB SCHOOLS INSIDE THE GREEN LINE

The study aimed to identify the teachers’ attitudes about the strategies and assessment tools commonly ‎used in Arab within the Greenline in the three academic stages (primary, preparatory and secondary). ‎The study consisted of 220 male and female teachers, who were randomly accessed. The questionnaire ‎was used as a tool for data collection after verifying its validity and reliability. The results of the study concluded that the degree of teachers' use of evaluation strategies in the ‎three educational stages was moderate. The strategy commonly used in primary schools is the ‎communication strategy, while in middle and high schools it was the performance strategy. The results ‎also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level α ≤ 0.05 in ‎the average responses of the sample members about the school assessment tools due to years of ‎experience, educational qualification, type of specialization and study stage.‎ In light of the above-mentioned results, the following is recommended: Educating teachers about ‎the importance of using modern assessment strategies and tools of all kinds, establishing awareness and ‎training courses for teachers in order to clarify the mechanism of using formative assessment because of ‎its benefits to the teaching and learning process.‎
