THE INCLUSION OF STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY AND THE QUESTION OF ACCESSIBILITY, AN EXAMPLE OF THE SCHOOL OF ARTS AND HUMANITIES IN CADI AYAD UNIVERSITY IN MARRAKECH

This study aims to monitor and Analise the experience of the inclusion of students with disabilities within the university and the question of accessibility, the topic which was a target of our study required adopting the qualitative methodology which relies on inducing the reality by collecting data by making use of the techniques of observation and interviewing a sample constituting of 40 students with disabilities in the school of arts and humanities in Marrakech, Cadi Ayyad University, in order to pinpoint the ways in which the university insures that this category of students have adequate access to pedagogical and educational services, which sequentially would guarantee achieving equality and equal opportunity for all students in terms of educational accomplishment in higher education. The results of the study, which is related to the interaction between students and the university through the various means of accessibility, lead to the discovery of three main aspects associated with the student’s access to education within the school of arts and humanities in Marrakech and epitomized by accessibility to information through technology and communication, architectural accessibility, and service accessibility. We also concluded that the means of accessibility available to students with disabilities are generally under their expectations especially concerning the pedagogical aspect affiliated with the language of communication with those who are blind and who represent half of the research sample, despite all the efforts made to reduce the gap between students of the latter category.
