THE RELATIONSHIP OF SOCIAL DOMINANCE TO TOLERANCE IN A SAMPLE OF EMPLOYEES ‎

The aim of the current research is to examine the relationship between social dominance and tolerance in a sample of employees. The study sample comprised 658 participants, 465 males, and 193 females, where 557 were Kuwaiti, and 101 were non-Kuwaiti. The results shoed that there was a negative relationship between tolerance and the trend towards dominance, support for hierarchy, and tolerance. However, the was a positive relationship between social dominance, support for hierarch, and inequality. No relationship was found between inequality and tolerance. Results showed that there is no significant relationship between social dominance, support for hierarchy, inequality, and tolerance. While there was a positive relationship between social dominance, support for hierarchy, and inequality in the sample of non-Kuwaitis. There was a significant negative relationship between tolerance, social dominance, and support for hierarchy‎‎‎.‎
