THE ROLE OF THE EDUCATIONAL COUNSELOR IN REDUCING THE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS OF THE (ADHD) STUDENTS AND THE OBSTACLES THEY FACE AND THE PROPOSED SOLUTIONS FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THE COUNSELORS IN HAIFA DISTRICT

This study aimed to the role of the educational counselor in reducing the psychological and behavioral problems of the (ADHD) students and the obstacles they face and the proposed solutions from the point of view of the counselors in Haifa District. To achieve the qualitative approach, an interview was prepared for the counselors to find out the obstacles they face and the proposed solutions to those obstacles, and acceptable parameters of honesty and reliability of the questionnaire were achieved. The study sample consisted of (244) educational counselors working with students with ADHD in Arab primary schools within the Haifa District Green Line, and the application was applied to them electronically by converting the paper questionnaire to electronic via the Google Drive application. After the application process, the following results were reached: The role of the educational consultant in reducing psychological and behavioral problems for students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder was high, and it was also found from the results that the most important obstacles referred to by the consultants are a lack of information and data about students of this group. The scarcity of material and human resources in the school, the lack of cooperation of parents of students in this category, the large number of students in classes, the lack of sufficient time, and the lack of cooperation of some students. Finally, the results of the study revealed the most important proposals and solutions to the obstacles facing the educational consultant in dealing with students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in Haifa District schools, the most important of which are: effective participation among all, providing a supportive educational climate for this category of students, and introducing programs and activities that do not A well-thought-out class, enriching and diversifying teachers’ teaching methods, increasing sensory stimuli inside and outside the classroom, raising awareness among parents and teachers about caring for and supporting these students, and requesting additional hours for the work of the educational consultant, in order to increase interest in this category of students, and allocating special rooms with appropriate equipment as well as providing Professionals in this field. In light of the results of the current study, the researcher recommends several recommendations, the most important of which are: increasing attention to students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in Haifa District schools, training teachers, counselors and school administrative staff to deal with psychological and behavioral problems for students with ADHD, and providing supportive counselors For the educational advisor in the school, and providing a special budget in schools that helps the educational advisor in developing special activities and programs for this category of students, and conducting more studies on the category of students with ADHD, and the problems they suffer from in inclusive schools
