FACTORS ENCOURAGING AND DISCOURAGING THE USE OF SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES IN PALESTINE, TIKTOK EXAMPLE

The current study aimed to identify the factors that encourage and discourage the use of Tik Tok, as well as to reveal the significant differences in the variables under study depending on the variable of gender, age, marital status, educational qualification, as well as the rate of using TikTok per day. To achieve the aim of the study, the researchers designed a tool to measure the factors that encourage and discourage the use of TikTok after verifying its validity and stability, as it was applied to an available sample of (119) of TikTok users in Palestine. The results of the study showed that the degree of factors encouraging the use of Tik Tok in Palestine came to a medium degree, with mean of (2.87), and that the degree of factors discouraging the use of Tik Tok in Palestine came to a large degree, with mean of (3.78). The results of the study also showed that the degree of factors discouraging the use of Tik Tok in Palestine is higher than the factors encouraging. The results of the study showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) in the degree offactors encouraging and discouraging the use of social networking sites in Palestine, Tik Tok, as a model, according to the variables of gender, age, marital status, educational qualification, as well as the rate of use of Tik Tok per day. The two researchers recommended a set of recommendations, most notably inviting the competent ministries (Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology) to monitor and block negative contents, as well as organizing awareness campaigns to reduce misuse of the TikTok program, as well as rationing the use of TikTok in terms of time period and watching positive contents, as well as making more joint efforts. With the local community to reduce the increase in factors that discourage the use of the Tik application
