SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY IN ANDALUSIA, THE ERA OF THE KINGS OF SECTS, AS A MODEL

The first period of the Islamic presence in Andalusia witnessed severe turmoil in political affairs and the outbreak of conflict between the Qaisi and Yemeni fanatics. Of course, these local disputes did not leave much time to care for the development of mental and scientific life in Andalusia, despite the political decadence and military weakness that the Muslims of Andalusia suffered in The era of the kings of the sects, and that one of the reasons that helped in the scientific development in Andalusia is the mixture between the Latin and Arab civilizations, and from it produced the first roots of the Andalusian civilization, and then helped the prosperity of the Andalusian civilization, including the Arab science. The scientific life in that era was strong and prosperous, and that is why many writers considered the fifth century AH – the eleventh century AD – the golden age for the scientific life, when the scientific movement reached its peak and apogee at that time among the Muslims of Andalusia. And since the topic of the research is: focusing on scientific activity in Andalusia in the era of the cults kings, and that the space is not wide enough to delve into all branches of science, so the focus will be on some branches of science, including medicine and pharmacology, and with reference to some of the biographies of scholars who emerged until the end of the era of cult kings.
