THE DEGREE OF ACCEPTANCE AMONG BASIC STAGE TEACHERS OF THE ROLE OF THE EDUCATIONAL COUNSELOR IN THE SCHOOLS OF THE DIRECTORATE OF EDUCATION, JENIN

The aim of this study is to identify the degree of acceptance among basic stage teachers for the role of educational counselor in the schools of the Jenin Directorate of Education according to the variables: gender, academic qualification, and years of experience. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method. The study tool used to collect data from members of the study sample was the questionnaire, which consisted of (28) items. The study sample consisted of (120) male and female teachers in schools affiliated with the Directorate of Education in Jenin, who were selected using the available sample method. To answer the study's questions and examine its hypotheses, appropriate statistical methods were used. The results of the study showed that the degree of acceptance of basic stage teachers for the role of educational counselor in the schools of the Directorate of Education, Jenin, was very high. It also showed that there were no statistically significant differences attributed to the variables: (gender, academic qualification, years of experience). Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are: that the directorates of education support the educational counselor administratively and morally so that this contributes to achieving the goals of educational counseling, and that educational counselors double their interest in practicing their counseling tasks effectively, especially in the field of their relations with teachers, strengthening them, improving their relationship with him and their acceptance of his role .
