THE EFFECTIVENESS OF AN EDUCATIONAL UNIT TO DEVELOP STUDENTS’ SKILLS IN RECYCLING LEFTOVER YARNS USING CROCHET IN THE PRODUCTION OF CLOTHING AND HOUSING ACCESSORIES
The research aims to prepare an educational unit to develop the skills of students to produce clothing and housing accessories by recycling threads using crochet art within the recycling course and to measure the effectiveness of the proposed educational unit on the skillful performance of students in recycling using crochet stitches. The research sample consisted of (30) female students in the Department of Fashion Design In the College of Home Economics at King Khalid University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who are studying the course of recycling, and this research follows the experimental method with one group, which requires a pre-measurement of information and skills, and then a post-measurement of the same group. The results concluded that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the sample in the cognitive and skill tests before and after the application of the teaching unit in favor of the post application at the level of 0.01.
