The current study aims to explore the relationship between family stress and the ability to cope with them, and life satisfaction among university students. It also seeks to understanding the differences between students with low and high life satisfaction in terms of exposure to family stress and their ability to cope with it. To test the hypotheses of this study, the researchers used the Family Stress Scale by Amani Abdel-Maksoud and Tahani Othman (2007), adapted to the Algerian context by the researcher (2012), as well as the "Life Satisfaction" scale by researcher Magdy Mohamed Desouki (2008). The study was conducted on 300 university students. The results of the study revealed a inverse relationship between family stress and life satisfaction. Additionally, there was a positive relationship between the ability to cope with family stress and life satisfaction among university students. The study also found statistically significant differences between students with low and high levels of life satisfaction in terms of family stress, favoring those with low life satisfaction. Similarly, there were statistically significant differences between students with low and high levels of life satisfaction in terms of coping strategies, favoring those with high life satisfaction.
